Nigerian gospel artist Chidinma Ekile has opened up about a deeply transformative spiritual journey, revealing that she recently spent 40 days in seclusion, immersed in prayer, fasting, and self-reflection.
The former Project Fame winner described the period as one of intense emotional and spiritual warfare. Isolated from the world, she sought divine direction and a deeper connection with God, enduring moments of profound internal struggle and vulnerability.
Chidinma recounted spending her nights outdoors, using music and prayer to pour out her soul. She called the experience deeply personal, noting that it heightened her awareness of God’s presence in a way she had never felt before.
During this period on the mountain, the singer recalled a chilling moment of spiritual attack. She said she stood at the edge of a cliff, gripped by a dark, persuasive voice urging her to jump. At that critical moment, an unseen force intervened, halting her steps and pulling her back from what could have been a tragic end.
Chidinma’s testimony offers a powerful glimpse into the spiritual battles that often go unseen, and it highlights the resilience of faith even in the most harrowing circumstances.
“It was more like I was in a theatre and God performed surgery on me and He shredded me. I have seen it all, and material things don’t move me anymore.
“The enemy came to me to take me out of there before my time. The devil took me to the top of a cliff at night where everywhere was dark. And right there, He asked me to jump. The voice was so strong.
“When I was about to jump, I noticed that I was barricaded and It was impossible to jump. Something was just there,” she said.
Chidinma’s testimony has since stirred reactions among her followers, many of whom praised her candour and spiritual resilience.
