The Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Susan Olowa has presented open cheques to the First, Second, and Third place winners of the recently concluded Maiden Edition of the Ibeju-Lekki Chairman’s Cup Competition.
The council boss emphasised the commitment of his administration to the development of Ibeju-Lekki youths while recounting several laudable youth-based programmes that had been organised by the council with remunerations as motivation.
Olowa stated that the maiden edition of the Chairman’s Cup was organised as a revolution to shift the interest of the youths to the game of football and a move to start a Football Academy to further promote the round leather game in the community.
A cheque of N1.5 million was presented to Ibile FC in the 1st position,
N1 million to All Stars FC in the second position while Onye-Ball FC received a cheque of N500,000 in the third place being the cash gifts promised by the council chairman.
The council boss further promised that the youths would not be left behind in the growth the local government is presently experiencing.
