The Canal View Estate Phase2 Community Development Association (CDA), Ejigbo, has given a sum of N5,000 to each of the 50 selected vulnerable people in the community as palliative to cushion the effect of the lockdown on them.
The initiative tagged “Back to Business Palliative” was said to be born out of curiosity of the CDA to help the less privileged people in the community especially during the period they could not provide for themselves.
The CDA Chairman, Mr. Fidelis Onwuatuelo, explained that the CDA has 11 streets with about 3000 people, stating that the CDA executive members decided to contribute the money to help some people in the community.
He therefore urged the residents to always abide by all the government preventive measures against the coronavirus as they go on their businesses, encouraging them to maintain social distance and constant washing of hands.
Commending the gesture by the CDA, the Chairman, Community Development Committee (CDC) Ejigbo, Prince Jelili Atiku, said the CDA executives have made a great sacrifice to help the people of the community at this time of want.
He also commended the CDA for supporting the government at this period and its efforts towards developing the community.
One of the beneficiaries, Pastor Daniel Isaac Young, commended the CDA chairman for helping out at this period of pressure as he appreciated all CDA executives for contributing to help the community.
Meanwhile, the CDA chairman also appreciated the Lagos state governor, the council chairman, CDC and all the community residents for their cooperation.
