BUA Group has awarded a whopping ₦30 billion to 510 employees during its 2025 Night of Excellence and Long Service Awards in Lagos. The unprecedented gesture highlights the company’s commitment to recognising the dedication and contributions of its workforce, setting a new benchmark in Nigeria’s corporate sector.
Spanning service tenures from five to over forty years, the awards honoured staff whose efforts have helped BUA evolve from humble beginnings 36 years ago into one of Nigeria’s most valuable listed enterprises. Addressing attendees, Abdul Samad Rabiu, Founder and Executive Chairman, praised the employees as the backbone of the company’s success, describing the ceremony as a celebration of resilience, commitment, and shared ownership.
Due to time constraints, only 41 of the top-earning employees were present to collect their awards physically, with individual prizes ranging from ₦100 million to ₦1 billion. The tiered system reflects BUA’s strategy to reward excellence while recognising long-term dedication across all levels. Rabiu emphasised that while no amount of money could fully repay decades of service, tangible recognition is central to the company’s culture of appreciation.
The star-studded event drew leaders from government and industry, signalling its significance beyond the company itself. As BUA continues to grow across cement, food, sugar, and infrastructure, it reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that employees who fuelled its expansion remain valued stakeholders in its ongoing success.
By celebrating staff not just as workers, but as partners, BUA Group has set a rare and bold example of corporate gratitude in Nigeria, demonstrating that loyalty and excellence are worth more than just words—they are worth billions.
