Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), hosted an inspirational evening with Magodo Girls, themed “Leadership Lessons from the Top: An Evening of Engagement and Inspiration.” The event aimed to empower young women and foster meaningful connections.
Princess Bada shared her personal journey into politics, highlighting her perseverance, sacrifices, and rewards. She emphasized the importance of women supporting women, stating that it’s crucial for growth and success in society. The Mayoress also discussed her marital journey, encouraging women to learn from her experiences.
She urged the audience to prioritize women’s empowerment, stressing that it’s essential for societal progress. She emphasized the significance of guiding children, as they are the future leaders of the community. Princess Bada also encouraged respect, love, and boundary-setting among women.
The Council Boss announced an upcoming trade fair at the Sanwo-Olu International Market from December 5th to 15th. This event will provide a platform for women to showcase their brands and network with others.
Throughout the evening, Princess Bada shared inspirational words on women in leadership, emphasizing the importance of confidence, vulnerability, and self-care. She encouraged the girls to define success on their own terms and aim it.
The event concluded with a networking session, where attendees connected and interacted with each other. Princess Bada expressed her appreciation for the Magodo Girls, stating that it was a fantastic evening of “girls talk.”
Mrs. Olugbemi emphasized the importance of women supporting each other, stating, “We’re here to learn from the Mayoress, an indefatigable leader doing amazing works in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.” She highlighted the group’s focus on growth, progress, and eliminating the notion that women are their own worst enemies.
“We’re here to wine and dine, and learn from the best,” Mrs. Olugbemi added. “I believe in progress, dynamism, leading well, and growth. We want to show that in Magodo, we are one, and moving forward, we work together, dream together, and succeed together.”
Princess Bada shared valuable insights from her leadership journey, encouraging the audience to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and strive for excellence. She emphasized the significance of women’s empowerment and community development.
Mrs. Olugbemi outlined the group’s objectives, including unity, growth, and empowerment. “We want to eliminate the belief that women are our own worst enemies,” she said. “We dream together, we succeed together.”
According to Flourish Ibironke, Social Secretary of the association, “We created a forum where all women in Magodo Residential Association Phase 2 can come together, network, and advertise their businesses. It’s a space for women to feel free, ask questions, and support one another.”
The forum’s inaugural event featured Princess Samiat Bada, Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA). Ibironke praised the council boss, saying, “She loves her people and ensures everyone is carried along. We’re here to learn from her and bond.”
Ibironke outlined the forum’s vision, stating, “In the next five years, Magodo Girls will bond and understand each other better. We’ll come together to make a positive impact, starting from the local government and eventually, Lagos State will feel our presence.”
