Alimosho GH Gets Commission’s Commendation

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health Service Commission, Dr. Ademuyiwa Eniayewun commended Alimosho General Hospital (GH) for effective healthcare service when he led the Hospital Transformation Support Initiative (HTSI) Team on an assessment and support tour to Alimosho General Hospital.
“Alimosho General Hospital is a five-in-one hospital and could be called a Teaching Hospital in the making and the progress you have made is not by luck but through great dedication, commitment, and hard work. Your efforts are highly commendable,” he said.
Eniayewun lauded Alimosho General Hospital, Igando for its giant strides and tremendous progress in delivering effective healthcare services to Lagosians.
He addressed members of the Health Management Committee (HMC) of Alimosho General Hospital after a tour of the facility, saying that they have good progress that should be upheld.
He urged the staff to develop a more strategic approach to work smarter, adding that as a high-traffic hospital, the effectiveness of the members of staff should be non-negotiable.
He also enjoined the Medical Director, Dr. Ayodapo Soyinka, to engage with all the HMC members, irrespective of their work schedule, to create a mutually beneficial bond with the management team while continuing to improve the staff’s welfare system for a more productive outcome.
The Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Soyinka stated that the hospital would be fully digitised through Electronic Medical Records (EMR) by the end of the year 2023.
He noted that 80% of the hospital’s department had commenced the use of the EMR system while 20% are currently being trained on it.
Soyinka revealed that the plan by the hospital to commence operations in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is still in progress, adding that the installation of the equipment is almost completed.
He disclosed that permission has been granted for the use of the hospital’s Triage and Oxygen Centre for ICU services.
He maintained that Alimosho GH’s development is evidenced in the construction of a 50-Bed Accident and Emergency, Diagnosis, and Mortuary building as an upcoming service of the hospital.
The Coordinator of the Hospital Transformation Support Initiative team, Dr. Yinka Otepola stated that the core significance of the team was its focus on transformation, just as he appreciated all members of staff of the hospital for effective healthcare delivery.
