Five delegates of the warring residents of Adebisi Omotola street in Isolo Local Council Development Area have ceased fire after meeting with Hon. Adebayo Olasoju, the chairman of the LCDA in his office Monday September 27 promising to deliver his message to their community.
They even assured that he should expect a favourable response form the community.
What is his magic wand?
Olasoju had called the delegates to resolve the lingering legal battle between the LCDA and the residents over ownership of the piece of land on the street and the legality of siting a business complex in their neighbourhood.
Led by Chief Olukunle Oyewole and the Chairman of Alagbeji CDA, Alhaji Adeyemi Sogunle, the delegates of the residents association were hosted by the chairman in his office.
Extending the olive branch, Olasoju offered to convert the shopping complex to a Primary Health Care centre in tandem with his guiding principle of “the people first”.
He said siting a business complex in a community like theirs that looks like a Government Reserved Area. (GRA) might endanger their security adding that his administration was ready to start work on the conversion and fix the access roads.
Responding to the gesture, Chief Oyewole announced that the stakeholders will not be a cog in the wheel of infrastructural development in the community as he impressed it on the council boss that the community is willing to work with him to develop the area.. He explained that a report of the meeting will be communicated to the extended members of the association.
