Agbado-Oke Odo Council Boss Attends Monthly CDA Meeting, Highlights Ongoing Projects

In an effort to foster open dialogue and enhance community engagement, Mr. David Famuyiwa, the Chairman of Agbado/Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area, attended the monthly meeting of Joint Community Development Associations (CDAs). This platform brings together various representatives to discuss issues impacting the community and promote government accountability.

 

During his address, Chairman Famuyiwa expressed gratitude to all attendees for their continued support, emphasizing the importance of maintaining constructive communication and collaboration. He further encouraged the representatives to continue their active participation and contribution to the shared goal of enhancing the community’s well-being.

 

By engaging directly with the CDAs, Chairman Famuyiwa demonstrates the local government’s commitment to transparent governance, proactive problem-solving, and a strong partnership with residents to address their concerns and improve the overall quality of life in Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA.

During the meeting, the Council Chairman outlined several ongoing projects aimed at improving infrastructure and public services within Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA. These projects include:

 

1. The renovation and fencing of Agbenuba Health Centre

2. The renovation and rehabilitation of Oke-Odo Area Office

3. The construction of office spaces and a lobby at Meiran Health Centre

4. The rehabilitation of Bonkas and Ilapo roundabouts

5. The construction of Owodunni Street/Old Otta Road and Olawale Cole Street.

 

In addition, Chairman Famuyiwa announced that 20 culverts would be constructed across the seven wards of the LCDA to improve drainage and mitigate flooding issues. He also mentioned that work on Lawal Street would commence as soon as the necessary approval is obtained from the state government.

 

 

 

 

Famuyiwa pleaded for support of the Community Development Association (CDAs) in promoting, planning, executing and maintaining Community Development projects in order to raise the socio– economic standards of the various communities and Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA by extension.

He proceeded to emphatically say that displaying wares on the roads and walkways remains prohibited and anyone caught will face the wrath of the law. He further assured the community of answers to their requests in due time, as his administration is working assiduously to change the face of the Local Government through capacity building and infrastructural development.

 

During the course of the meeting, health educators from Alimosho and Agege Local Governments championed by Agbado/Oke-Odo health educator , Ms Omolara Ogunjuyigbe sensitized everyone on Supplementary Immunization Activity (SIA), an immunization Programme for OPV, HPV and Yellow Fever etc, which begins October 19, 2024 for two weeks. The CDC Secretary, Mr. Shakiru Oguntola also sensitized the attendees on behalf of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA).
