Nollywood actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo has opened up about the emotional and physical demands of producing Jagun-Jagun 2, revealing that he cried during the challenging two-year journey to complete the sequel.
Adebayo shared his reflections in a post on X, expressing gratitude to God as he announced that the highly anticipated Yoruba epic is ready for release.
The filmmaker said the project involved sacrifices, lessons and intense work, adding that only God fully understood the weight of the experience.
“I cried… Yes, I did!! Only the Almighty knows the weight of those tears – the sacrifices, the lessons, and everything it took to get here. Two years of relentless work, and now…” he wrote.
Celebrating the completion of the film, Adebayo added, “We cooked!! Jagun-Jagun 2 is ready!! Thank you, God.”
He announced that the sequel would premiere exclusively on Netflix on December 4, 2026.
The film, titled Jagun Jagun 2: War of Warriors, follows the success of the original Jagun-Jagun, a Yoruba-language epic that drew attention for its battle scenes, traditional setting and portrayal of power, loyalty and warfare.
Adebayo recently unveiled the sequel through a teaser video shared on his social media platforms, building anticipation for the next chapter of the story.
In the teaser, the filmmaker used dramatic narration to describe a man whose name remained a curse even in his absence, suggesting a story in which some men are shaped by war while others inspire kingdoms to fear it.
The December release will bring the sequel to Netflix audiences, with Adebayo’s latest remarks offering a glimpse into the personal effort and emotional investment behind the production.
