Unification Ladies, Larry FC Clinch Maiden Lagos Mini Football League Title

Unification Ladies have emerged victorious in the first edition of the Lagos Mini Football League held at Keke Primary School, Agege.
Larry FC also claimed the men’s title after triumphing 2-1 against G Innovation FC in a keenly contested tie.
Unification Ladies defeated DreamStar Ladies 5-3 to establish their selves as the first champion of the 6 aside football competition.
DreamStar Ladies had the upper hand in the first half with a slim 3-2 edge lead before the break.
Coming into the second half, Unification Ladies scored three quick goals to change the trajectory of the game in their favor as the Galacticas search for their momentum.
The Indomitable firepower in the second half sailed them to emerge champions with a 5-3 win against DreamStar Ladies in Agege.
The men’s final came with a dramatic ending and tensed soaked atmosphere.
Larry FC drew the first blood in the first half to send shockwaves through the fans in the mini pitch.
G Innovation FC didn’t back down either as they threw their all but couldn’t get any breakthrough in the first half.
In the second half, Larry FC doubled their lead after series of wasted chances.
G Innovation FC composed their play while pulling a goal back towards the end of the match.
G Innovation FC piled pressure on their opponent in the latter stage of the game but Larry FC stood tall to grind out a 2-1 win against their opponents and also clinched the men’s title of the Lagos Mini Football League.
Chairman of Lagos Mini Football and also Agege LG boss, Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa said he was excited to see the quality of football displayed by the footballers while commending them for their skills and techniques.
The President of Nigeria Mini Football Association (NMFA), Datti Umar said players selected from the competition will represent the country at the Africa Mini Football Cup Of Nations starting with the women’s edition which will be held in Yaounde, Cameroon from September 30 to October 4. While the men’s edition will hold in Conakry, Guinea from January 7-25 2027.
The vice chairman of Lagos Mini Football Association, Sheriff Tajudeen said the purpose of the tournament is to expose the hidden gem of footballers in the grassroots and also propagate the sport nationally with plans for the inclusion of all 36 states before the end of 2026.
