Call for Applications: IITA Graduate Internship 2026 for Young Nigerians
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is inviting applications from qualified young Nigerians for its 2026 Graduate Internship in People and Culture.
This internship offers recent graduates an opportunity to gain hands-on professional experience at one of Africa’s leading agricultural research organisations.
The internship is based at IITA’s headquarters in Ibadan, Oyo State, and provides an opportunity for an early-career professional to work with the People and Culture Directorate, supporting administrative, operational, communication and coordination activities.
IITA is a non-profit agricultural research-for-development organisation and a member of the CGIAR Consortium. Its work spans agricultural research, food security, nutrition, livelihoods and sustainable natural-resource management across Africa. The institute’s Capacity Development Office also manages internship and volunteer placements for students and freshly graduated candidates seeking practical work experience.
What the Intern Will Do
The successful candidate will work directly with the Director, People and Culture, while collaborating with other teams within the Directorate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative and operational support to the Director and leadership team.
- Assisting with executive schedules and meetings.
- Supporting reporting activities.
- Assisting with stakeholder engagements.
- Coordinating multiple activities, priorities and deadlines.
- Supporting communication and coordination across the Directorate.
- Working with other units and team members to support the Directorate’s activities.

- A related discipline
Applicants are also expected to demonstrate good organisational and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines.
Experience with executive scheduling, meetings, reporting and stakeholder engagement is also listed among the requirements.
