Tope Osoba Laid To Rest Weeks After Controversial Death

The late Nollywood actress, Temitope Osoba, popularly known as Tope Osoba, has been laid to rest in Ogun State.

Osoba was buried on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Iperu Remo Cemetery in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.

A video from the burial ceremony showed family members, friends and colleagues mourning as the actress was laid to rest amid tears.

The ceremony was attended by several Nollywood personalities, including Kunle Afod, Joke Jigan, Basira Badia and Foluke Daramola.

DAILY POST reports that Osoba died on August 4, 2026.

Her burial was initially scheduled for August 13 but was postponed following public outcry over the circumstances surrounding her death.

The postponement came as authorities began investigating the circumstances surrounding the actress’ death.

Police subsequently arrested and detained her lover, Prophet Itunu, following allegations of involvement in her death.

The circumstances surrounding Osoba’s death remain a subject of investigation, while the police are expected to establish what led to her death and determine whether anyone will face criminal charges.

For her family, friends and colleagues in Nollywood, Thursday’s burial marked the final farewell to an actress whose death had generated significant concern and public attention.
