Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has revealed that he once pretended to have a physical disability as part of a staged healing miracle at a church, years before he became popular.

Solade made the revelation during an interview with Feel Right News TV published on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

The actor said the incident happened when he was still a student and had yet to establish himself in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

According to Solade, he was approached to play the role of a person with a physical disability during a purported healing session and agreed to participate after being offered money.

Recalling the incident, he said, “I have been used for miracle then, when I was not popular. I acted as a cripple, they paid, I used the money to drink, then I was a student.”

Solade, however, declined to disclose the identities of those involved, saying they are still alive.

“The people involved are still alive; I don’t just want to mention names,” he added.

The revelation has drawn attention to the veteran actor’s experience before his rise to prominence in Nollywood and has also raised fresh questions about staged miracle practices in some religious settings.
