Sir Raheem Quits Music, Says “The Best of Me Is Yet to Come”

Nigerian singer Sir Raheem, the 23-year-old son of billionaire industrialist Razaq Okoya, has announced his decision to step away from the music industry.

The singer, whose real name is Raheem Okoya, made the announcement in a lengthy Instagram post on Wednesday, describing his departure as a “professional exit.”

Reflecting on his journey, Sir Raheem said music began as a hobby shared with friends before gradually becoming a career that took him to major stages and brought him recognition from some of the artistes he admired while growing up.

He described the experience as a “magical” one and thanked his fans, colleagues and everyone who supported his music.

However, the young artiste explained that balancing music with his other responsibilities had become increasingly difficult over the past year.

“I’ve always believed in giving everything my best, and I no longer feel I can give this craft the effort, patience, and dedication it truly deserves,” he said.

Sir Raheem said he therefore decided to stop releasing new music, adding that he wanted to give his supporters and industry colleagues a proper professional goodbye rather than simply disappear from the scene.

Music May Not Be Completely Over

While the “Siraheem music” era appears to be coming to an end, Raheem made it clear that he is not abandoning his creative side.

He revealed plans to explore other creative ventures and suggested that some of his previously recorded music could still eventually be released.

“Music still remains therapeutic for me,” he said. “With time, maybe the album finds its way into the world somehow after all.”

His decision also comes as he continues to take on greater responsibilities outside entertainment.

Raheem currently serves as Executive Director of Eleganza Industrial City Limited, a company owned by his father, Razaq Okoya.

Earlier this year, he revealed that he had been preparing for a role in the family business for years, including shadowing his father from the age of 13.

For now, Raheem says his focus is shifting away from being a recording artiste, but not away from creativity or ambition.

Ending his announcement on a confident note, he told his supporters:

“The best of me is yet to come.”
