A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to produce Lagos socialite Afolabi Kazeem Micheal, popularly known as KC Luxury, before the court.

The order was issued on Thursday following the agency’s failure to formally charge and arraign the socialite after 14 days in custody.

KC Luxury was arrested by the NDLEA on August 18, 2026, over an alleged 184.5kg cocaine consignment valued at about ₦39 billion.

The anti-narcotics agency had alleged that the socialite was arrested at the Lagos airport while attempting to leave Nigeria for Paris.

However, with the 14-day period of detention reportedly expiring without a formal arraignment, KC Luxury approached the court to challenge his continued detention.

The order followed an ex parte application filed on his behalf by his counsel, A. Labi-Lawal, SAN, under the Fundamental Rights Enforcement Procedure Rules, 2009.

The court’s directive now requires the NDLEA to bring KC Luxury before it, placing his continued detention under judicial scrutiny.

The development comes as questions continue to surround the circumstances of his arrest and the alleged cocaine consignment. The allegations against him remain subject to investigation and judicial determination.
