Ogogo Buried in Ilaro Amid Tears, Tributes

The remains of veteran Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have been laid to rest in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State.
Hassan was buried on Monday amid tears and emotional tributes from family members, colleagues, friends and residents who gathered to bid farewell to the celebrated actor.
Several veteran Nollywood stars attended the burial ceremony to honour their longtime colleague and friend.
Among those present were Yinka Quadri, Jide Kosoko, Fausat Balogun, Toyosi Adesanya and Femi Adebayo, alongside other members of the Nigerian film industry.
The gathering was marked by grief as mourners remembered Hassan’s contributions to Yoruba-language cinema and his decades-long career in the entertainment industry.
Eaglespath had earlier reported that Hassan died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66, after battling stage-four cancer.
His death came days after his daughters, Kaira and Lima Taiwo, appealed for medical assistance for their father as his health condition deteriorated.
The actor’s death has continued to generate tributes from colleagues, fans and prominent figures across Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
