Police Arrest VeryDarkMan’s Brother Over Alleged Threat to DeeOne

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a man identified as VeryBlackman, said to be a member of the Ratel movement and the brother of social media activist VeryDarkMan, over an alleged threat against comedian and reality star DeeOne.

VeryBlackman was reportedly arrested in Port Harcourt on Saturday after allegedly failing to honour an invitation from the police concerning the matter.

He was subsequently transported to Lagos on Sunday, according to reports.

DeeOne confirmed the development in a post on Instagram, commending the police for what he described as a swift response.

“Arrested and swift to Lagos! Next time you won’t threaten someone’s life. Kudos to the Nigerian Police for doing their job,” the comedian wrote.

The arrest followed an alleged threat made by VeryBlackman against DeeOne in June 2026 after the comedian criticised VeryDarkMan.

The alleged threat generated reactions on social media, with several Nigerians and celebrities, including Mario Wazobia and Broda Mike, calling for police intervention.

The latest development has now brought the dispute involving the two camps into the hands of law enforcement authorities, with investigations expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged threat.
