Actress Lilian Afegbai Slams AMVCA After Missing Nomination
Nollywood actress Lilian Afegbai has openly criticised the organisers of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards following the release of the 2026 nominations.
The actress expressed her disappointment after she was left out of the nominees list, despite her role in the popular series To Kill A Monkey. Interestingly, her co-star Bimbo Akintola secured a nomination for Best Lead Actress.
Reacting on social media, Afegbai argued that her character, Idia, stood out and gained significant attention, insisting that her performance deserved recognition.
She, however, maintained that she does not depend on awards for validation, adding that her work speaks for itself.
In a strongly worded post, she suggested that the organisers could keep their award, stressing that her performance had already been acknowledged by audiences.
Despite the criticism, her reaction has sparked conversations online about recognition, performance, and the criteria used in award nominations.
