Amuwo Odofin Residents Face 166-Day Power Outage Amid Maintainance Works

Residents in Amuwo Odofin will experience a 166-day power outage due to a planned maintenance work on a transmission substation in the area.
As disclosed by the The Ikeja Electric, IE, the exercise which would be held by the electric company in collaboration with the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, is aimed at strengthening the power infrastructure as well as enhancing power supply to inhabitants in the area and other affected parts.
A statement by the IE on Wednesday, states that the maintenance work will hold on the 18th of March till July 30th, appealing to the residents to key in line with the declaration and cooperate with the working team as they discharge their duties at the facility.
”Please be informed that rehabilitation and maintenance works on the 132KV GIS Substation at the Amuwo Transmission Station (1/5) will commence on Wednesday, 18, 2026, at 10 am and is expected to continue until Thursday, 30th, July 2026,” the circular reads in bit.
The IE held that it apologize for the inconvenience the exercise may have in the area, calling on the resident’s patience and understanding as it undertakes the important improvement works.
