Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Begins Resurfacing of Olayinka Street to Ease Traffic
Residents of Igbogbo in Ikorodu are set to experience improved road connectivity as the Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has commenced the resurfacing of the Olayinka axis linking Solawon Street.
The project, initiated under the administration of the Chairman, Hammed Aroyewun, began on Monday night following the successful completion of the Oliwo Amoju section of the Oliwo Amoju/Olayinka road reconstruction.
The reconstructed Oliwo Amoju stretch, which has been fully stabilised with interlocking stones, serves as a strategic alternative route that helps reduce traffic congestion along the busy Obafemi Awolowo/Igbogbo/Baiyeku Road.
Echonews gathered that the resurfacing work on Olayinka Street is being carried out by the Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) in collaboration with the LCDA authority, aimed at restoring accessibility to the previously deteriorated road.

As of Tuesday morning, the first layer of asphalt had been successfully laid from Moshood Hassan area to Hasbunallahi School, marking significant progress in the ongoing rehabilitation effort.
Sources at the project site disclosed that work will resume later tonight as construction activities continue in phases to ensure quality delivery.
The strategic Olayinka axis connects the popular Solawon Street near the PHCN office in Igbogbo and also links the Igbogbo/Bola Tinubu Road, making it a vital route for commuters and residents within the area.
When completed, the project is expected to further decongest traffic, improve mobility, and enhance economic activities within the community.
