Nigerian Fuji musician Shanko Rasheed has announced the death of his first son, Jamaldeen Atanda.
The artiste shared the heartbreaking news on his Instagram page on Friday, expressing profound sorrow over the loss. He described the death of a child as an unimaginable pain and offered prayers for his son’s peaceful rest.
In his emotional message, Shanko Rasheed did not disclose the circumstances surrounding the boy’s passing.
“So sad, no parent prays to lose a child in their lifetime but Alhamdulilahi Jamaldeen Emrs Atanda JNR rest well my champ I will surely tell you all about it when I see you again. Omo Ola sun reeee,” he wrote.
Following the announcement, his social media platforms were flooded with condolences from fans, colleagues and other figures within the entertainment industry, many expressing support and sympathy during his time of grief.
The tragic development comes just months after the singer celebrated Jamaldeen’s 12th birthday in December with a heartfelt tribute. In the earlier post, he praised his son for bringing joy into his life and expressed pride in watching him grow.
“Happy Birthday to my amazing first son! You changed my life the moment you arrived and continue to make me proud every single day. I love the young man you’re becoming,” he had written at the time.
“Watching you grow has been my greatest joy. Keep shining, keep dreaming, and keep being the incredible person you are. So proud of you. May your year be filled with laughter, growth, and endless blessings. I love you forever, son.”
