In a decisive move to enhance environmental hygiene and public health, Alimosho Local Government has strengthened its waste management capabilities with the addition of a state-of-the-art refuse compactor truck. The initiative, championed by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, is set to improve waste collection efficiency across the area and curb the long-standing challenge of indiscriminate dumping.
The new compactor is already deployed across major roads, markets, residential neighborhoods, and public spaces, ensuring faster and more systematic evacuation of refuse. Residents can expect cleaner streets, improved sanitation, and a healthier living environment as the local government steps up its urban cleanliness drive.
Speaking on the development, Hon. Johnson highlighted the link between a clean environment and community well-being. “This investment demonstrates our commitment to tackling waste management sustainably. Public health, hygiene, and urban development are central to our administration, and we are determined to provide practical solutions for our residents,” he said.
The Chairman further appealed to the public to actively participate in keeping Alimosho clean by adhering to approved waste disposal guidelines and cooperating with environmental officers.
The acquisition of the compactor truck reflects Alimosho Local Government’s focus on responsive governance, community engagement, and sustainable environmental practices, reinforcing its pledge to make the area safer, cleaner, and more livable for all residents.
