Court Remands Two Suspects Over N6.8M Fraud

The Police in Lagos have arraigned two suspects, Ajibola Olaleye and Noah Boyabdo, in court over alleged offence of conniving to commit fraud in the sum of N6.8 million belonging to a complainant.

The duo were brought before trial at the Badagry Magistrates’ Court by the security agency who disclosed they contravened the stipulated laws of the state and are deserving of necessary punishment.

Olaleye, 51; and Noah Boyanho, 73 are standing trial on charges bordering on felony, breach of peace, fraud and stealing Which they pleaded not guilty to after it was read to them.

Nevertheless, the prosecutor, Edet Ekpo, told the court that the defendants committed the offences sometime in August, at house number 9, Olorunda Street in Morogbo, along Badagry expressway, Lagos.

Ekpo, during the proceedings on Monday, claimed that the defendants conspired to obtain the sum from one Ugochukwu Orikago with a promise to use the same in helping him to rent a shop

The policeman held that the defendants failed to carry out the task, this, converted the money for personal use.

Ekpo added that the suspects conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause breach of the peace by their actions.

“The offences contravene the provisions of sections 168, 287, 314 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015,” the Prosecutor said.

The court Magistrate, Nurudeen Layeni, granted the defendants bail in the sum one million naira each with two sureties each in the like sum, ordering that one of the sureties must be a community leader

Layeni adjourned the case till January 15, 2026, for continuation of trial.
