The Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), delivered a compelling message on visionary leadership and youth inclusion on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, as he addressed participants at the Local Government Chairmen Leadership Conference organised by Drive Innovative Africa. The event, held at the University of Lagos, brought together governance stakeholders, corps members, and young Nigerians eager to understand the demands of public service and grassroots development.
From the moment Chairman Aroyewun took the stage, the hall was charged with energy. The audience—comprising future leaders and policy enthusiasts—responded with enthusiasm to his insights on governance, innovation, and capacity building. His remarks, grounded in experience and strategic foresight, underscored the urgent need for informed leadership across all levels of government.
Chairman Aroyewun stressed that access to accurate information is central to effective planning and decision-making. He noted that leaders must continuously seek knowledge that equips them to design sustainable policies capable of meeting the real needs of their communities. The audience listened attentively as he explained how the right information not only strengthens capacity but also guides leaders toward delivering impactful development.
A significant part of his address focused on the role of young people in shaping the future of governance. The Chairman highlighted various initiatives through which his administration in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA is engaging, mentoring, and empowering youths. He described young people as the “shining lights of tomorrow,” noting that their creativity, energy, and fresh perspectives are indispensable to community transformation. His administration, he said, is committed to ensuring that the youth develop the confidence and competence required to thrive in leadership spaces.
Chairman Aroyewun also offered a clear blueprint for strategic governance, explaining how the Strategic GLORY Agenda of Igbogbo/Baiyeku aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiatives and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ Agenda. He emphasized that this alignment, especially in social development and community welfare, has been pivotal in delivering people-focused projects that continue to improve the lives of residents in the LCDA.
In his closing remarks, the Chairman expressed gratitude for platforms that spotlight transformative leadership and reaffirmed his commitment to building sustainable structures and opportunities for his people. “Together, I will keep building structures, opportunities, and systems that secure a brighter future for our people,” he said, drawing applause from the audience.
The conference affirmed Aroyewun’s position as one of the leading grassroots administrators championing youth inclusion, innovation-driven governance, and strategic alignment with national and state development agendas—values that mirror Nigeria’s collective commitment to a progressive future.
