“It Should Have Been O.B.O Airlines!” — Fan Shares Candid Opinion As Davido Launches Chivido Airline
By Emmanuel Daniji
History was made as Davido’s new venture, Chivido Airline, officially took to the skies in Nigeria. The maiden Boeing 737 touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, marking a proud moment not only for the artist but for Nigerian aviation as a whole.
The launch ceremony was a grand affair, attended by prominent figures, industry stakeholders, and celebrities. Among them was Davido’s father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, visibly proud as he witnessed his son transition from music charts to air routes — a true symbol of ambition and legacy.
While the country celebrated this bold step, not every fan was entirely sold on one detail — the name of the airline.
A fan, Morenikeji Olatubosun, took to Facebook to share her personal opinion, writing:
“The airline would have been more aptly named O.B.O Airlines, aligning with the persona by which he is universally recognized, and to further promote his career. Chivido is not a commercial brand but merely a matrimonial coinage. Entrepreneurship demands sagacity, not emotions.”
Her comment reflects a sentiment shared quietly by some fans who believe “O.B.O Airlines” would have carried stronger commercial weight, connecting more directly with Davido’s established global brand.
Others, however, see “Chivido Airline” as a heartfelt expression of love, partnership, and personal evolution, a nod to the bond between Davido and his wife, Chioma.
Regardless of perspective, Davido has once again proven his versatility and vision. From the music stage to the aviation sector, his journey continues to inspire millions across Africa.
Whether it’s called O.B.O Airlines or Chivido Airline, one truth stands firm — Davido keeps turning his dreams into history, one flight at a time.
