The Police have arraigned one Yusuf Afowosere over accusations of stealing the sum of N183 million at his workplace.
Afowosere, 37, was arraigned at the Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos where the police stated that he falsified financial records belonging to the firm.
During the trial on Thursday, the Prosecutor, Cyriacus Osuji, mentioned that the suspect is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing, and fraudulent falsification of accounts.
Osuji said that Afowosere conspired with others, who are still at large, to commit the offences on July 11, 2025, at Rosabon Financial Services Limited in Yaba, Lagos.
He alleged that the defendant fraudulently altered and mutilated the company’s financial documents in order to divert the funds, adding that the alleged offences contravened Sections 411, 287(5)(e)(8), and 335(2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The accused, thereafter, pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Kehinde Awoyinka, granted him bail in the sum of ₦3 million, with two sureties in like sum.
She ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed, reside in Lagos, and provide proof of six months’ utility bill payments, while their addresses must be verified.
The matter will be revisited in court on October 27.
