The Sarki Hausawa of Shasha, HRH Alhaji Iliyasu Isa Kira, led his entourage on a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, to congratulate him on his assumption of office and pledge support for his administration.

During the visit, the Hausa community in Shasha Kingdom presented a four-point proposal to strengthen collaboration with the local government.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Malam Ibrahim Jagaba expressed gratitude for the Chairman’s inclusiveness, citing the distribution of GCE forms to Arewa youths. He, however, appealed for more government support in four areas:

1. Inclusion in the execution of the administration’s agenda.

2. Welfare support to the Sarki’s palace.

3. Financial assistance to petty traders in the community.

4. Mobilisation collaboration on voter registration with INEC.

In response, Hon. Akinpelu appreciated the gesture and assured the delegation of his administration’s openness to collaboration.

On inclusion, he urged the Sarki to use his influence to promote environmental cleanliness among the Arewa community:

“Help tell them not to litter the streets or road medians indiscriminately. We need a cleaner Alimosho, and a dirty environment can lead to diseases such as cholera.”

On welfare for the palace, he promised to consider the request and give feedback. Addressing the plea for petty traders’ support, he noted that his manifesto already prioritised social intervention programs:

“In the next few weeks, we are embarking on a social intervention fund support of ₦100,000 each to 500 people; you will be given slots, rest assured.”

The Chairman also pledged logistics support for INEC continuous voter registration, including the provision of vehicles. He further hinted at plans to support indigent students in the council area.
