Young swimmers from across Lagos will converge on Ikoyi Club 1938 this Saturday for the Quomodo Swimming Grand Slam, a one-day competition designed to nurture budding talents in both primary and secondary schools.
Now in its second edition, the event promises to be action-packed, featuring races in butterfly, breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle, individual medley, and relays.
Sponsors Quomodo have pledged an exciting experience for all participants, reaffirming their commitment to developing grassroots sports in Nigeria.
Chairman of Ikoyi Club’s Swimming Section, Mr. Akinbulejo Onabolu, said preparations are in top gear to ensure a smooth outing.
“We are very ready for the kids because Ikoyi Club is fast becoming the hub of swimming, not only in Lagos but in Nigeria. The aim is to continue what we are doing and in future, we expect superstars that will be our products at the global stage,” Onabolu said.
The competition is fast becoming a regular fixture in Lagos’ sporting calendar, offering young athletes the opportunity to hone their skills and set the stage for future international representation.
