The Lagos State Local Government elections held across the state on Saturday recorded a peaceful and orderly turnout in Agbado Oke Odo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), with voters showing strong enthusiasm at the polls.
Reports from the 287 polling units across the council area confirmed that the election was generally free, fair, and devoid of violence. Residents came out in large numbers to vote for their preferred candidates.
By midday, the Council Manager of Agbado Oke Odo LCDA, Mrs. Fregene Gbemisola, led members of the council’s management team on a monitoring visit to several polling units. Among the locations visited were Polling Unit 002 at Gate Command Army Children School in Abule Egba, as well as Units 004, 005, and 006 in the Kantagowa Zone.
At each of these polling stations, voters were observed casting their ballots in a calm and organized manner, while electoral officials appointed by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) carried out their duties efficiently. Security personnel were also present to ensure order throughout the voting process.
Similar scenes of peace and orderliness were reported in polling units across all seven wards within the council area.
Earlier in the day, by 6:30 a.m., LASIEC officials began distributing election materials at the council secretariat. By 8:00 a.m., these materials were being transported to polling stations in preparation for the commencement of voting.
