The Tabitha Kay Widows Care (TKWC) Foundation recently brought a message of hope and support to 80 widows in Badagry.

The initiative blended spiritual encouragement with practical aid, providing a lifeline for vulnerable women in the community.

The foundation’s founder, Mrs. Dorcas Thokunno Adelaja, explained the dual purpose of the event.

“Our target is to win souls and encourage women for our Lord Jesus Christ and cushion their economic challenges with take-home foodstuffs and clothing,” she said.

The foundation is implementing a long-term empowerment strategy. In addition to distributing essential food items like rice, noodles, and spaghetti, TKWC plans to offer interest-free loans to a select group of widows. This critical capital is designed to help them start or grow their own businesses, promoting financial independence.

Adelaja stressed the importance of self-reliance, encouraging the widows to pursue productive work. She shared the personal inspiration behind the foundation, which was established in 2020.

“Just like Dorcas in the Bible, who was known for her acts of kindness, I have taken it upon myself as a covenant between me and God to always reach out to the widows.”

The event also featured a sermon by Pastor Mede Poji, who reminded the women to place their trust in God as their ultimate provider.

The TKWC Foundation’s mission aligns with the global recognition of International Widows Day by the United Nations, highlighting the ongoing need to address the unique challenges faced by widows worldwide.
