The Akinpelu and Adebisi campaign team has taken a bold step toward inclusive governance, placing people living with disabilities (PWD) at the forefront of its agenda as the July 12 Local Government elections approach in Alimosho.

In a well-attended event that brought together party leaders, members, and representatives from the PWD community, the campaign reiterated its commitment to empowering all segments of society, particularly those often overlooked.

The chairmanship candidate pledged to begin addressing the needs of PWD from day one of his administration. As part of his immediate plans, he announced a grant of N100,000 each for 500 members of the PWD community and the appointment of one member as Senior Special Assistant to the chairman. He also emphasized the inclusion of health insurance schemes and the full integration of PWD-focused programs within his administration’s WISE AGENDA.

“People living with disabilities are not just part of our society—they are contributors, innovators, and essential voices in our development,” the candidate said. “Their inclusion is not charity; it is a matter of justice and progress.”

Chairman of the Alimosho APC, Honorable Tosin Fatoki, extended his appreciation to the PWD community and made a financial donation to support their transportation and logistics for the campaign period.

In response, leaders from the PWD community expressed their gratitude to the Akinpelu and Adebisi team, offering prayers for their success at the polls and acknowledging the campaign’s sincere outreach.

Director General of the campaign team, Engineer Adebayo Akande, provided further assurance, stating that every promise made would be carefully documented and fulfilled. “This is not just a campaign; it is a commitment to accountability and inclusive leadership,” he said.

The event underscored a growing momentum within the campaign, fueled by unity, shared vision, and a clear focus on inclusive governance. With strong participation from the candidate, his running mate, party executives, and community leaders, the Akinpelu and Adebisi team continues to build a coalition that reflects the true spirit of Alimosho.
