The Lagos State Government has denied claims made by Mr. Peter Obi concerning the demolition of a property said to belong to his brother. In a firm response, the government stated that neither the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) nor any other agency under its authority was responsible for the demolition.

Dr. Olajide Abiodun Babatunde, Special Adviser on eGIS and Urban Development and the official overseeing LASBCA, confirmed that the agency had no involvement in the alleged incident. He described Mr. Obi’s statements as troubling and lacking factual basis.

Reaffirming its commitment to the rule of law, the Lagos State Government emphasized that it would not tolerate any acts of lawlessness or breaches of existing regulations. It also promised that any individuals or groups found to have engaged in illegal activity would face justice.

In a move to ensure transparency, the government has directed the Permanent Secretary of the Office of Urban Development, Arc. Gbolahan Owodunni Oki, to initiate a thorough investigation into the matter. LASBCA has been tasked with leading the inquiry to determine the true circumstances behind the demolition.

Authorities are urging the public to dismiss Mr. Obi’s allegations and remain confident in the government’s ongoing efforts to maintain law and order.

The state reiterated its open-door policy, welcoming all to live and work in Lagos, and assured residents of its continued dedication to their safety and well-being.
