Governor Sanwo-Olu Commends Troost-Ekong’s “Play For Purpose” Initiative

Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has hailed Nigeria captain, William Troost-Ekong over his successful Foundation Charity Match at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.

Sanwo-Olu was excited over the show of purpose while lauding the Troost-Ekong Foundation Charity Match for its foresight in using football to create opportunities for underprivileged kids.

He assures Lagos residents of his unwavering commitment in investing in sports to provide economic and community impacts to the youths.

“I attended the Troost-Ekong Foundation Charity Match at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan and I even showed off a bit of my football skills on the pitch.

“This initiative, #PlayForPurpose, led by Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong, is about using football as a force for good, supporting underprivileged children and creating opportunities where hope may be limited.

“As Governor, I remain committed to investing in sports not just as recreation, but as a tool for youth empowerment, social development, and community impact.

‘Well done to William and the Troost-Ekong Foundation for leading with heart and purpose.”

The Troost-Ekong Foundation Charity Match saw a handful of top Nigeria players, musical artists and comedians who showed up to support the Super Eagles skipper.
