Lagos To Prosecute 62 Suspected Criminals Arrested In Midnight Raid

The Lagos State Government is set to arriagn 62 suspects for violating the environmental laws in the area.
The executive arm relayed that the suspects were arrested following an enforcement raid after a tip off by concerned residents who cited criminal elements and disorder.
The state’s Taskforce team, while conducting the enforcement, disclosed that the raid focused on areas where disruptive and suspicious behaviour had reportedly escalated in recent weeks.
The Commissioner for Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, said that the the agency held the enforcement on Friday at about 1:30am in Victoria Island, Falomo, Eko Hotel axis and Osbourne areas.
Wahab informed the alleged violators comprising of 59 males and three females will be charged to court for prosecution.

The Commissioner disclosed that all the arrestees will be charged to court for prosecution.
He said that the enforcement team restored normalcy in the area n added, “A total of 62 individuals were arrested in midnight of Friday by the Lagos State Taskforce team.
“These persons were caught with criminal elements which can lead to disorder and lawless act.
“This is to further inform that the Lagos State Government under the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu prohibits criminal activities which could lead to breach of peace and letdown of law and order.
“We are advising the public, particularly the young ones, to flee from all vices. We have our laws and anyone caught acting against it them will be dealt with accordingly.”
