Wafa League Body Secures Sponsorship Deal With Diego Rotimi

The Wafa League body has announced a significant sponsorship deal with the chairman of Nakamura FA, Rotimi Ronaldo Vianney (Diego), worth a substantial ₦5 million.

The agreement, which was finalized after intense negotiations and it’s expected to have a profound impact on the league’s activities for the 2024/2025 season.

Wafa League body chairman, Adeboye Shoneye, expressed his unbridled enthusiasm and gratitude towards Diego Rotimi Vianney for believing in the league’s vision.

“This sponsorship deal is a game-changer for us,” Adeboye Shoneye exclaimed.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Diego Rotimi Vianney, we really appreciate him for his benevolence in investing in the Wafa League. We’re confident that this partnership will elevate our league to new heights.”

Shoneye further added that, the ₦5 million sponsorship will be utilized to enhance the league’s infrastructure, support participating teams, and promote grassroots football development.

 

He stated that Diego promised to increase the sponsorship deal to ₦20 million in the next edition if the Wafa League organization hits satisfactory marks.

The Wafa League boss also revealed that Diego will also sponsor the prize money for the winners, second, third and fourth placed teams.

Organized by the Female Football Academy Proprietors (FEFAP), 22 teams are expected to participate in the grassroots women’s football league while the draws and seeding of the teams will take place on Wednesday, May 21 in Mushin.

CATS Ladies emerged champions of the 2023/2024 edition with a slim win against Papa Soccer Academy in Ikenne.
