Carpenter On Trial For Alledgedly Stealing 120,000

A carpenter identified as Tunji Aminu is facing prosecution over allegations of stealing his client’s N120,000.
During Aminu’s trial at the Magistrates’ Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, Police Prosecutor, Adegesin Famuyiwa, mentioned that the accused, on May 29, 2024, at n0 13, Popoola Street in Agric area, Ikorodu, collected the sum from his client, one Adebayo Johnson, to fix a set of chairs.
Famuyiwa stated that the defendant converted the money for his use, failing to make the chairs as agreed.
The prosecutor also submitted that 48-year-old Aminu is facing charges of stealing by conversion and obtaining by false pretence.
The defendant, however,pleaded not guilty.
Famuyiwa, thereafter, disclosed that the alleged offences contravened Sections 314 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The court granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till May 24.
