Court Orders Onafeko’s Return As Lagos Assembly Clerk
By Felix Kuyinu
A sitting at the National Industrial Court in Lagos has ordered the Lagos House of Assembly to reinstate sacked Olalekan
Onafeko back to his position as the Clerk of the parliamentary House.
Justice Maureen Esowe gave the order at the court following a suit by Onafeko contesting his dismissal from the position.
In the suit marked NICN/LA/23/2025, the agitator, through his counsel, Yusuf Nurudeen, expressed disgruntlement against the Lagos State Government, Lagos State Civil Service Commission, Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission, Speaker at the Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, and the Attorney General of the state, Femi Pedro, SAN, for parading and installing Babatunde Ottun as Acting Clerk of the Red Chamber despite an ongoing hearing of the motion on notice for Interlocutory injunction at the court.
Justice Esowe gave a restraining order to the Ottun to cease parading himself as a holder of the position.
The judge admonished both parties to maintain peace and status quo ante bellum until the motion on notice is heard and determined.
Further hearing on the matter is on March 3.
