Man Burns Wife, Brother-In-Law To Death, Faces Court Judgement, February 27

A man who has set his wife and brother-in-law ablaze is to be arraigned for court judgement on February 27.

The accused, Benjamin Ogudoro, will be on trial at the Tafawa Balewa Square Court in Lagos on four count charge bordering on murder.

Ogudoro, during earlier arraignment was said to have burnt his wife, one Chinyere Ogudoro and her sibling, Ifeanyi Edeziem, causing their demise.

The prosecution told Justice Sherifat Sonaike, who presided over the sitting that the litigant commited the offence on 1 April 2022 at about 3.30 a.m, at n0 5, Zone 7, Oteyi Garden Estate, Abule Ado in Amuwo-Odofin area of Lagos.

Ogudoro was alleged to have drenched the deacesed duo with petrol and set them ablaze while asleep, as disclosed by the prosecution.

The offences were said to have contravened Section 223 and 341 of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015.

A sibling to the victims, Uche Uwalaka, said: ” The murder of my siblings have caused unbearable pain to our family. The incident led to the death of our mother.

“My late brother told mewhat transpired before he died while I was with him at the hospital.”
