Panel Beater Allegedly Steals Vehicle Part, Gets Remanded

One Kazeem Tunde has been remanded for allegedly stealing a Toyota Hiace bus catalytic converter in Ogba area, Lagos.
Tunde, 50-years-old, was arraigned at the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court over trial charges of stealing, conspiracy and causing a breach of peace.
ASP Matthew Akhalude, who appeared as Prosecutor stated that the accused who resides in Obawole area, Ifako Ijaiye, Lagos, committed the alleged offences on January 12 at n0 2, Adeyeri Street, Ogba.
Akhaluode mentioned that the defendant and one other who is yet to be apprehended stole the item belonging to his customer – one Kabir Akingbolu – the complainant.
The prosecutor also held that the complainant gave his bus to Kazeem to repair. Itwas later discovered that the vehicle part was missing, which the suspect was unable to state it’s whereabout.
Akhaluode informed that the alledged offences contravene Sections 168, 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Following a not guilty plea by the defendant, the court granted him bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till February 17.
