Reckless Driving: Soldiers Killed in Lagos Road Jog Tragedy

Tragedy struck in the Shomolu area of Lagos early Friday morning when a suspected drunk driver plowed into a group of soldiers from the Myoung Barracks during their routine monthly road jog.

The incident, which occurred in front of the barracks in the Morocco area, resulted in the deaths of four soldiers and left many others seriously injured.

According to Priscilla, a local resident who witnessed the horrific scene, the speeding Toyota vehicle, occupied by three young men, slammed into the soldiers.

The occupants of the car attempted to flee the scene but were quickly apprehended by the enraged soldiers and other witnesses. A violent altercation ensued, during which the vehicle was vandalized and one of the young men was reportedly stabbed.

The tragic event has instilled fear and panic among residents of the surrounding community.
