Ven. Lawrence Ogunsipe Highlights Groundbreaking CDA Achievements in Ifako Area

The Ifako Forum, an association of Community Development Associations (CDAs) in the Ifako area, hosted a New Year get-together on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Secretariat.

 

Led by Venerable Lawrence O. Ogunsipe, the event aimed to foster love and unity among the people of Ifako while celebrating the new year and expressing gratitude for the achievements of 2024.

 

In his opening speech, Ven. Lawrence Ogunsipe, the Chairman of the Forum, warmly welcomed members and highlighted their shared purpose as one united family.

 

He acknowledged the remarkable successes of various CDAs within the forum during the previous year, notably commending the Fagba CDA Youth’s impactful health program and the contributions of the Women’s Wing of Sokedile CDA.

 

Furthermore, he celebrated Harmony Estate’s prestigious accomplishment of being recognized as the second-best CDA in Lagos State during the Community Day event organized by the state government.

 

The event also featured a health talk by Dr. Isa Tosin, MD/CEO of Our Friend Hospital. Dr. Tosin shared insights on healthy lifestyle practices, emphasizing the importance of balanced nutrition, sufficient water intake, and other crucial habits to promote overall well-being.

 

The participants actively engaged in the discussion, raising questions and contributing to a lively exchange of ideas on healthy living.

 

 

As the event progressed, distinguished personalities within the community were honoured with certificates of recognition for their excellent leadership qualities and significant contributions to the development of the Forum. Honourees included Pastor Samuel Opajobi (CDC Chairman), Alhaji Abass Bilesanmi (CDC Secretary), Mrs. Oyafunke Omolabake (HOD Agric), Venerable Lawrence Ogunsipe (Ifako Forum Chairman), and Alhaja Muslimot Oyede.

 

Others on the honour list included Alhaji (Engr.) Isa Egbeyemi (Harmony Estate Chairman), Dr. Isa Tosin (MD/CEO of Our Friend Hospital), Alhaja R.M. Salami, Mr. Taiwo Bakare (Publisher of Community Eye), among others. They were duly presented with certificates of honour for their steadfast commitment to the growth and success of the Forum.

 

The event featured fascinating entertainments, including music, games, refreshments, and delicious food, creating a lively and memorable celebration for all attendees.
