Sanwo-Olu Solicits Monarch’s Collaboration With State Government

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called for partnership between the Lagos State Government and it’s traditional rulers to ensure more developments in the area.
Sanwo-Olu disclosed that such synergy will contribute to the peace seeking missions and community growth in the state.
The Governor gave the charge during the installation and presentation of Staff of Office and instrument of appointment to the Olu of Iju-Ishaga, Oba Bayo Akinbami.
At the event held at the Ifako-Ijaiye Council Secretariat recently, Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the state’s Commissioner for Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Bolaji Robert, gave kudos to members of the ruling houses in the community for promoting peace and unity among residents in the community despite being without a traditional ruler for three years.
He emphasized on the significant role the traditional rulers play as custodians of culture, traditions, values, alongside bridging the gap and as between the residents and and the government.
“Our traditional rulers need to recognize the importance of collaboration with the state government in achieving developments in our state.
“This is by ensuring that the various initiatives of the state government aimed at promoting economic growth and infrastructural development are implemented in their respective kingdom, thereby improving the quality of lives of residents.
“The state government will continue to ensure development initiatives and projects that are tailored to the specific needs of the people are executed in Iju-Ishaga Kingdom and other communities.”
The new Oba, who takes over from his predecessor, Oba Bass Ajibade, who died on July 11, 2021, assured that he would consolidate efforts with the State Government in ensuring that the T.H.E.M.E.S. Plus Agenda of Mr Governor is delivered in his domain and also ensure peaceful co-existence in his community.
