The much anticipated food pack distribution for citizens by Ibeju-Lekki LCDA Chairman, Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa administration tagged “Ounje Ibeju”, kicked off Yesterday 21st December at Community High School, Lakowe, as beneficiaries were drawn from the Ward E and F axis of the Local Government.
Delivering his speech during the kick off, the Chairman, Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa affirmed that, as part of efforts to cushion the economic realities and in a bid to ensure a memorable celebration of the festive season, his administration has ensured that food packs, containing rice, beans and garri, are being distributed to various households.
The Council boss,expressed his administration’s dedication to improving the lives of the citizens. In his words “This initiative is aimed at bringing succour to our people. As a government that is closer to the people, it is our responsibility to give back to the community, especially during this festive season. With Christmas and New year approaching, it is an ideal time to spread joy and show our people that we care deeply about their welfare.
The initiative which met with gratitude had beneficiaries testifying to the good deeds of the Chairman, Mrs. Ganiyat Ajao, who resides in Lakowe, describes the food palliative as a timely blessing as this will help many families especially those still struggling. Pastor Jimoh of the word of life Church also lauded the efforts of the Chairman, emphasizing on the relief it has brought to many homes.
This is not the first time, this administration has embarked on laudable initiatives aimed at putting smiles on the faces of families as similar feats have been done in time past. The food distribution continues for Wards A, B, C1, C2, and D tomorrow respectively.
