Nigerian rapper and reality TV star Laycon has taken to social media to publicly call out popular disc jockey, DJ Neptune, over an alleged unpaid debt related to their collaboration on the “Nobody (Icons Remix).”
The remix, which also featured Joeboy and Mr Eazi, was released shortly after Laycon won Big Brother Naija’s “Lock Down” edition.
In a recent post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Laycon expressed frustration over the lack of updates on the agreement and his share of the profits from the song, which was released four years ago.
He tweeted: “Abeg o… @deejayneptune how far my agreement and split for the ‘Nobody (Icons Remix)’ song though. Is it not still ready? Haba it’s been 4 years o Cc @emPawaAfrica.”
The post quickly gained traction, sparking reactions from fans.
One user, MALIK, commented, “4 years gbese?? Awa fears ,” while another, Valking, noted, “Be like twitter go sweet this evening oh.” PB humorously suggested that Laycon’s financial needs might have prompted the reminder, saying, “Laycon don need money. He come remember say he get share for Neptune hand .”
Other fans expressed their disappointment at the situation, with The Sirius stating, “Nooo Nobody iCONs remix ?? We put our blood on that P! They better not do shiiiiittttt!!!” Another user, Hashtag LFC, commented, “Omo music business cr*zyyyy,” while KING DAVID EMPIRE added, “If you don talk since like portable he for don pay you.”
As of now, DJ Neptune has not publicly responded to Laycon’s claims. Fans are eagerly awaiting further developments as the story unfolds on social media.
