A two-storey building in Ebute-Meta has been caught in an inferno.
The building is situated at No. 14, Okobaba Street in the area.
The Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the incident on Sunday.
Oke-Osanyitolu revealed that LASEMA received a distress call from residents in the area at about 11:50am on Sunday.
The agency’s PM said, “Upon arrival of the LASEMA Response Team at the incident scene, the LRT discovered that a two-storey residential building was engulfed by fire.
“Further investigations revealed that the fire, which has not been ascertained, reportedly started in a flat on the top floor.
“No casualties or injuries were recorded during the incident. The fire affected a two-bedroom flat, one unit of a room, and a parlour self-contained and single room.”
Oke-Osanyitolu said that the fire had been subdued due to the quick intervention of the LRT, LASEMA Fire Unit, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Federal Fire Service.
