The Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani, has strongly warned residents of Asuku Street against illegally dumping rubbish in newly constructed drainage systems on the road project in the area.
To ensure a cleaner environment during the ongoing construction at Asuku Street, Tijani has set a 48-hour deadline for the immediate removal of waste from the drains and roadsides.
Those who fail to comply will face legal repercussions as they will be dealt with according to the law.
The Chairman expressed his disappointment at the disrespect shown towards public infrastructure and stated that such actions will not be tolerated in Asuku or any other part of Ojokoro LCDA.
A meeting with key stakeholders from Asuku Street has been arranged by the chairman to discuss ways to prevent similar incidents in the future and to support the progress of the ongoing road and drainage projects on the street.
