The NAFF are however seeking for funds to participate at the continental showpiece which will serve as qualification for the 2026 Amputee Football World Cup.

Maduagwu said the NAFF are battling with lack of funds for the AAFCON which includes flights fees, accommodations and other logistics.

He said the tournament is important for Nigeria as it will serve to be the qualifying stage for the Amputee Football World Cup.

“Lack of funds is a major issue to us which includes Flights fees, accomodations and other logistics,” he said.

“The Cairo 2024 AFCON is really important for us to attend as it will serve as a qualifying stage for the Amputee World Cup in Morocco.”

Maduagwu stated the NAFF have done everything within their reach at the ministry level but they have to seek for funds elsewhere since reaching the World Cup is the main target.

“We have done all it’s necessary to do at the ministry level to go for the Nations Cup.

“There’s no fund have been their response but we can’t fold our hands and not seek for funds elsewhere.

“Our target is that we are aiming high and why it’s important to say that the world cup ticket is our aim is because we want to make the country proud.”
