NBA sets up committee for AGC 2024

The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, has appointed it’s members for the Annual General Conference (AGC) 2024 and the National Remuneration Committee (NRC) towards its annual conference billed to be held in Lagos.
Referring to the Paragraphs 10, 11 and 12 of the Legal Practitioners Remuneration (for Business, Legal Service and Representation ) Order if 2023, the body’s Renumeration Implementation Committee initially proposed the idea of setting up the committee team to the National Executive Council (NEC) during a forum of the association held on December 7, 2023 as contained in a statement issued by the National Assistant Publicity Secretary, NBA Charles Ajiboye.
The notice stated that the NBA President, Yakubu Maikyau (SAN) has appointed Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya as the Chairperson of the Annual General Conference Planning Committee 2024(AGCPC), having been the alternate chairman for the AGCPC2023.
Amina Sulieman Kaoje got the nod as the Alternate chairperson, Laura Alakija as Secretary while Chika Eucharia Okorie was appointed Assistant Secretary.
The statement also revealed that other members will be announced later whilst the committee reserves the power to co-opt members as they deem necessary.
In the same vein, the statement said the President has also constituted the NBA and NRC and appointed Mazi Afam Osigwe (SAN) as the Chairman while Aminu Sani Gadanya was appointed as the alternate chairman.
Foluke Akinmoladun was appointed Secretary while Florence Marcus was the Assistant Secretary.
Other members of the remuneration committee are: Professor Agbo Johnson Madaki, Adama Mohammed, Cordelia Uwuma Eke, Damian Nosike, Abdulwasiu Alfa, Barbara Omosun and Augustine Nwabueze Eseagwu.
