LNSA IS A GAME CHANGER IN COMMUNITY POLICING – RRS
The Commander of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has described the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency as the game changer in Community Policing.
Speaking during a visit to the Headquarters of the Agency at the Multi-Agency Complex, Bolade, Oshodi, CSP Egbeyemi described Officers of the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps (LNSC) as the most disciplined paramilitary organisation operating in Lagos State.
According to him “Proximity is the first stage of development and LNSA is the first State Police doing our job that is borrowed from the Federal Constitution”.
The RRS Commander also proposed that the police should be training 20 officers through joint operations with the RRS on a monthly or quarterly basis to boost unity, promote bonding and solidify the synergy between them.
He added that there should also be a gathering of LNSC officers where Police officers can come and address them to boost their morale while educating more on how to collaborate effectively with the other security outfits in the State.
Earlier, the General Manager of the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency, Prince Dr Ifalade Oyekan FSIN warmly welcomed the RRS Commander to the Agency and thanked him for his continuous support, especially for those beyond police duties to the LNSA.
He said the agency has gone through a lot of transformation through Egbeyemi’s wealth of experience and constant advice.
Oyekan said, “The immediate past CP was in our agency following the recommendations of CSP Egbeyemi about the Agency. I want to implore other Police formations in the State to see LNSA Corp Officers as their extra hand”.
The General Manager added that the LNSC has been able to foil many robberies, one chance, rape, kidnap etc that hoodlums were perpetrating in the State with the cooperation of other Security Agencies especially the RRS.
“Visitors and residents of Lagos State have our Governor to thank for these synergies that have worked wonders and I can assure Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is willing to do more with our support as citizens”, he stated.
