Robo Queens founder and head coach, Emmanuel Osahon has canvassed for an indigenous coach to head the technical crew of Nigeria women’s football team side.
The Super Falcons proceeded to the 2023 World Cup without an home based player which is the first time in the history of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership.
Speaking to ECHONEWS exclusively, Osahon said he would like an indigenous coach to take charge of the Super Falcons and the home based players be giving much attention or chances in the team.
The ex international credited Randy Waldrum for doing well at the World Cup but wasn’t happy that no home based player made the team to the mundial.
“The only thing I can understand is that they should call an home based coach or an indigenous coach to take charge of the Super Falcons and they will gladly serve their father’s land,”
“Kudos to Randy Waldrum at the last World Cup, he did well and kudos to the coaches too. You know we need to look inward, how does Randy Waldrum tenure help the NWFL?
“I appreciate him for helping us know our players in the diaspora which is good, we understand that we need to grow our home based too.
“We need to look for a way to develop our home based players. Nigeria is the only country in that World Cup that came there without an home based player. So what message are they sending back to the girls at home, they will now be running to Togo, Ghana and Cameroon to go and play football. It doesn’t help our football.”
